| Breaking News |  | Brewers Darling Blanks Detroit Saturday, August 27th, 1988: Ron Darling effectively shut down the Tigers today, blanking them 3-0 on 1 hit, ringing up 7 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks. The Brewers pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.
"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Darling said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."
The Tigers skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."
Up to now Darling has compiled an ERA of 3.64 with a 10-10 mark over 28 starts.
